The mechanics of the realtionship between Cyril Darnley & grandmother Elizabeth Philpot have not yet been found. (1911 census).

I suspect that Elizabeth was married to Joseph Philpot (Phillpot) & that they had a daughter Ada (born 10 Jan 1872). Ada was unmarried in 1891 and is presumed to have died before 1911 (from Elizabeth's 1911 census entry). No Philpot/Darnley marriage has yet been found.
