'The manorial rights, purchased before 1580 with Docwra's Shepreth estate by the Ingreys, passed after 1617 to William Hancock.' Victoria History of the Counties of England, A History of the County of Cambridge and the Isle of Ely Vol. VIII (Oxford University Press 1982), 168. Docwras Manor was in Foxton which is only 6 miles northeast of Bassingbourn. Unfortunately, we do not know if or how Jane is descended from this local family.
