The Examination of George Grinter a debtor now confined in the County gaol at Dorchester in the said County of Dorset, taken on Oath, before us his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the county of Dorset, this ninth day of September 1816-
Who on his Oath, said that he was born in the Parish of Whitchurch Canonicorum in the County of Dorset, as he Hatte said and believes to be true and that on the fourteenth day of February last he agreed with Samuel Gregory of Bridport to rent a Dairy of twenty one cows at the sum of two hundred and twenty pounds a year and that he then entered on such Dairy and resided in the said Parish of Whitchurch Canonicorum. During the time he occupied the same which is as nearly half a year that he paid half a years rent when he was obiged to give up the Dairy”.
That He assured his present Diannah Mills at Whitchurch Canonicorum afs, by whom he hath four children, George aged ten years, John aged nine, and Diannah aged six year, and Robert aged about twenty weeks, and he further saith that he has since done no act to gain a Settlement in any Parish or Place.
