WEDDINGS
NELSON—DEARNLEY.
A marriage of much interest to residents of the Springston. district took place recently at St. David's Church, Colombo St., Christchurch, when Olive Margaret, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Dearnley, of Selwyn St., Spreydon, was married to Leslie James Fergussion (sic), youngest son of Mr and Mrs D. Nelson, of Wellington.
The church was beautifully decorated by girl friends of:the bride, and the Rev. J. D. Webster performed the ceremony. Mr Thrower presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a long-sleeved frock of cream georgette, the bodice finely pint tucked and the skirt, which fell ankle length, was covered in silk lace, and a large bow at the side fell below the hem of the frock. The veil was arranged in coronet style, with clusters of orange blossoms at the sides, and she carried a shower bouquet of hot-house flowers and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Miss Martha Benny, of Springston, who wore a girlish frock of delphinium blue georgette. The bodice was tight fitting and the circular skirt, which fell ankle length at the sides, was outlined with three tiny frills and a large sash, and bow of blue satin completed the waist line. Her hat was of biscuit pandom straw, with a flat rose under the brim, and she carried a bouquet of apricot abutilions and blue scabias.
The flower girl, little Mabel Benny, wore a pretty little pink frilled frock of crepe de chine, with a head-band of pink tulle, and she carried a basket of pink and mauve flowers.
Mr Hector Mclntosh, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.
After the ceremony a reception was held in the Sunday School Hall, where the guests were received.by the bride's mother, who wore a frock of black crepe de chine, with an inset vest of beige, over which was worn a Mack silk coat and a black hat relieved with beige. She carried a posy of red roses., The bridegroom's mother was attired in a model gown of black georgette and lace, with a black hat to match, and she carried a posy of salmon pink roses.
When the bride left on her wedding tour she was wearing. a blue costume and a blue pandom hat, relieved with fawn, and shoes and stocking to match.
