Was farmer firstly at Mottram in Longendale and later in Whitely Green. Mary seems to have stayed with him after Charlotte's death and possibly never married. In 1891 the two children from Thomas's first marriage to Emma Whiston, John and Annie are staying with then as well as a niece Mary Ellen Smith

Death ref is Macclesfield 8a 82 in Jun Qtr 1893 aged 82.

(Research):1851 he is a farmer of 48 acres at Brook House Farm in Mottram St Andrew. With him are Charlotte, Mary and Ann. Also a visitor/servant Mary Cragg from Mottram and a servant aged 17 called John Harrop from Bowden. The Harrop family has links with the Worthingtons see RIN 1841 and 1842 Elizabeth W and Edward H.

Death ref is Macclesfield 8a 77 in Apr Qtr 1876 which fits with her being on 1871 census and jonathan being a widow in 1881.
