Alex was born in Manhattan on September 18, 1925 to Alexander and Grace where he grew up until enlisting in the US Army on his 18th birthday. He proudly served overseas in Italy and Germany for two years serving in the 34th division of the 135th infantry.
After his military service he moved to the Newburgh area based on a wartime friendship and was introduced to his future wife. Alex worked For Nabisco in Beacon, NY for 30+ years before "retiring" to start his second career as owner, with his wife, of the Jennifer Shop in Cornwall and later becoming independent representatives for various manufacturers. Although proud of his many professional achievements he was most proud of his family and enjoyed his time with all in his extended family, church friends and close friends made over the years."
