LONACONING — Marian Katherine Darnley, 100, formerly of West Florida Way, Lonaconing, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing, where she had been a patient since June 15, 1999.
Born Jan. 13, 1908, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late David Darnley and Janet Lynn (Hotchkiss) Darnley.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Darnley, one sister, Ethelyn McLean and one nephew, William Darnley.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing. She had worked as a supervising clerk for Columbia Gas of Maryland in the Lonaconing office. She was a member of Martha Washington Chapter 10 Order Eastern Star, George’s Creek Senior Citizens Center, Lonaconing, and Quarter Century Columbia Gas.
At her request she was cremated and a memorial service will be held in the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
Inurnment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
