William had moved from Whitfield to Holme, whilst Joseph of Callwell had moved from Ludworth. William and Joseph (and their wives) would certainly have known each other (same surname, both moved from Glossop area, both clothiers, lived within a couple of miles of each other). But were they related? We don't know William's grandfather, so that question remains unanswered for now. - JAD.
