1. I Judith White
2. Widow Declare this to be my last Will and Testament of Will
3. that my Debts and Legacys be-[with]-first place satisfyed Item
4. I Give to my brother James Gatwood Ten pounds for Mourning
5. for him and his wife Item I Give to my brother William
6. Hummerston thirty pounds which he stands indebted to me by his
7. Promissory Note which I desire may be Delivered up to him
8. Item I Give to my cousin Mr George Reynolds and to Mr [James?]
9. Preston one guinea each for Mourning Rings All the rest
10. Of my Estate I Give to my Brother Mr Edward Gatward whom
11. I make Sole Executor of this Will And hereby revoke all
12. Other Wills by me heretofore made Witness my handthis 25th day of
13. August 1757 Item all my wearing apparel I Give to my sister
14. Humberston – Judh White – Witness Tho. Strickland – [Ozele]

17. Since my signing the above will I make the following
18. Bequests by way of Codicil [Viz.?] I Give to my Sister Mrs
19. Margaret Gatward my White Silk Gown and my White-[ffly]
20. Petticoat my peice of new Muslin, 6 Aprons 4 of which are
21. Made and 2 unmade 3 pair of Holland shoes not made-up
22. and my Cardinal I give to Mrs Ann Pitt my Muff and Tippet
23. my best apron and double-ruffles and my best [ffly] Cap and
24. hood and all the rest of my wearing apparel I give to my
25. sister Humerstone as above mentions as also my child bed
26. Linnen with 6 handkerchiefs 6 more to be divided between
27. Sister Margaret and Mrs Pitt, Judith White – Witness
28. Tho. Stricklands
29. This Will was proved at London with a Codicil
30. The third day of January In the year of our Lord One - -
31. Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty eight before the Worshipful
32. Andrew Coltor Durant Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the
33. Right Honorable Sir George Lee Knight also Doctor of
34. Laws Master Keeper of Commissary of the Prerogative - Court
35. of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Edward
36. Gatward the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom
37. Administration was granted of all Singular the goods
38. Chattels and Credits of the deceased having first sworn
39. duly to administer as Es^d

Proved 18 March 1750/51

1 In the Name of God Amen
2 I John White of White Cross Street in the County of Middlesex
3 Sawmaker declare this to be my Will and Testament in manner
4 following Imprimis I commit my Soul to God and my body to the
5 Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named
6 Item all my stock in trade household goods furniture plate Debts
7 owing to me upon Securities or otherwise ready Money and all and
8 singular other my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever
9 after payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I and
10 bequeath to my dear wife Judith White for her own proper
11 use whom I hereby make and appoint the sole Executrix of
12 this my Will hereby revoking all wills by me heretofore made
13 as Witness my hand and seal this Ninth day of August One
14 thousand seven hundred and fifty--John White--Signed and
15 Sealed in the presence of Tho. Strickland Mary Gatward

16 This Will was proved at London the Eighteenth day of
17 March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and
18 Fifty before his Worshipful Robert Chapman Doctor of Laws
19 Surrogate of the Right Worshipful John Bettesworth also Doctor
20 of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court
21 of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Judith White Widow
22 the relict of the deceased and sole Executrix in the said Will named
23 to whom Administration was granted of all Singular the Goods
24 Chattels and Credits of the deceased having first sworn duly to
25 Administer.
