The Daily News (Perth, WA)
Corporal Dennerley, of 6 Holyrood Street, West Leederville, has received word that two of his sons — Private Ernest Dennerley (33) and Private Thomas Dennerley (30) are missing.
One telegram was received on Wednesday and one on Saturday, but he thinks his sons were probably together. Both Diggers were born in England and came to W.A. in 1919. Both were working with the Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Department before enlisting together at the outbreak of war. They both went to Ingleburn and left in April, 1940. They have seen service in Libya and Greece and probably in Crete.
Their brother, Private William Dennerley is also overseas probably in Tobruk. Private Thomas is married and his wife and three daughters live at 4 Warwick Street, West Leederville. Private Ernest is a widower. His three sons live with their grandfather in West Leederville. The father Corporal William Dennerley served with the 2nd Battalion of the Manchester Regiment during the Great War, was wounded and was awarded the D.C.M. and M.M. He is now in the Hygiene Section at Northam.
