William Darnley died on 2 June 1844 at Whitehaven, Cumberland, England, at age 37 years, 9 months and 9 days
  
Another inquest was held the same day, before the same gentleman, at Hensingham, near Whitehaven, on view of the body of William DARNLEY, a custom-house officer at that port, aged 37 years, who was found dead in bed on Sunday morning last. Mr. D. had been in a declining state of health for some time past. Verdict: "Died by the visitation of God."
