Benjamin Silverwood's mother was Ann Hawley born 1794, with parents Joseph Hawley c.1764- and Elizabeth Woodhead who had married in 1788. Ann Hawley married Daniel Silverwood in Penistone in 1817.
Wright's mother was Ellen Hawley (1811-); daughter of Joseph and Elisabeth.
So it looks as if Wright Dearnaley (1838-) and Benjamin Silverwood (1821-) were cousins.
BUT, to confuse matters, there are 2 couples named Joseph and Elizabeth Hawley, using the same churches and with children of overlapping ages. The second couple are Joseph Hawley c.1777- (father Nickolas) and Elizabeth Goodison, who married in 1804. However, this second Joseph was an Ag Lab and Ellen said her father was a shoemaker. The [:ITAL]Eliza Hawley[ITAL:] 1827 who married William Dearnaley in Mottram is a daughter of this second couple.
So given that we need a connection between Wright Dearnaley and Benjamin Silverwood, I am assuming that Ellen and Ann Hawley were sisters. - JAD.
