1 This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Dearnaley farmer
2 of Tintwistle in the parish of Mottram in Longdendale in the County of
3 Chester. It is my will that my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses
4 be paid out of my estate and if my wife Ellen should survive me I direct
5 that the homstead remain as it is if things can be made agreeable. If not
6 then I direct my Executors and Trustees hereinafter named to pay her the sum
7 of six shillings per week during her life time if she remain my widow and
8 I request my trustees to superintend the farm till my son Arthur arrives
9 at his majority. I give and bequeath to my sons James and Arthur the
10 whole of my estate whatsoever and wheresoever found subject to the provision
11 hereinbefore made for my Wife Ellen each to have equal shares. It is my
12 Will that my son Arthur have the homestead at a valuation and that
13 my son James be paid his share in money and I direct my trustees to sell
14 so much of the stock as shall enable them to pay my said son James
15 his moiety should there not be sufficient money to pay him without such sale.
16 And I hereby nominate and appoint Robert Marshall School Master
