Her married name was Roberts.
Note:

Louisa was born in Challock which is about 7 miles NW of Hastingleigh. Because John Roberts and Louisa do not appear in the marriage records for Hastingleigh, the couple presumably was married in Challock--as was the custom to marry in the bride's church. Unfortunately, no marriage records for Challock exist for this time period and thus we don't know the exact date.

In 1891 Louisa and her son James lived with her daughter Mary Ann who had married William Tooley. They lived at Fern Villa in Plumstead, London. She supported herself by her own means.

Regarding Challock . . . . . The name Challock is of Saxon origin and means 'enclosure of calves', calves being large standing stones some of which were used for the foundations of the church. A considerable village was situated round the church in the Middle Ages. The village is now situated at the top of the hill. Many of the wells that served the old village round the church can still be traced. The ancient church of St. Cosmas and St. Damian was built in the 13th century on the site of an earlier church. The church boasts one of only two remaining candle beams in the country and features two sets of murals, one painted by John Ward RA, which depicts the life of Christ using villagers as models. It was painted in 1956. Challock Lees is common land and was granted a charter by William I to be used as a racecourse. The manor of Challock was given by William the Conqueror to Battle Abbey and remained in its possession until Henry VIII destroyed the Abbey. Challock Lees is now owned by the Parish Council.
