Joseph Hoskins

ID# 781, b. 1780, d. May 1846
Note:

There was only one Hoskins family having children in Lyme Regis at this time. Joseph must be Daniel's father though the 1808 record for him is missing. The entries were squashed to fit onto the page and his might have accidentally been left off.

Joseph's marriage record says "residing in this parish," thus he was not originally from Lyme.

He worked as a driver in 1814, and in 1841 he worked as a weaver.

He was buried 22 May 1846 age 66. Our Joseph might have been the Joseph Hoskins christened 22 Sept 1782 at Whitchurch Canonicorum four miles away, but "Joseph Hoskins" was a common name and he could have come from anywhere to the bustling seaport of Lyme Regis. He was not, however, born in Beaminster as I have checked those records. - D.S.
