Mary Jane Robinson

ID# 9898, b. 1835
From 1 August 1868, her married name was Darnley.
From 1 August 1868, her married name was Dearnley.
From about November 1900, her married name was Wordsworth.

Birth:
Mary Jane Robinson was born in 1835 at Holmfirth, Kirkburton, Yorkshire, England,
 .

Mary Jane Robinson was the daughter of John Robinson and Harriet (?)

Marriage:
Mary Jane Robinson married Firth Dearnley, son of Jonathan Dearnley and Mary Schofield, on 1 August 1868 at Parish Church, Darfield, Barnsley R.D., Yorkshire, England,

Firth Dearnley 33 Bachelor, Miner res: Worsbro Dale fa: Abraham Dearnley, Miller
Mary Jane Robinson 34 Spinster, --- res: Worsbro Dale fa: John Robinson, Weaver
Firth signed and Mary made her mark
Witnesses: William Bean & Ellen Robinson

I believe that Firth's father's entry is incorrect (although clear), however there is a possibility that there was another Firth Dearnley born at the same time who married Mary Jane. If so, we have not found him. The only Abraham Dearnley we have is a 4th cousin in Glossop - see Abraham Dearnaley - MED

Another suggestion is that Firth could have been a son of, say, Jonathan's sister & that Jonathan & Mary passed him off as their own to save embarrassment.
