Elias is named in the wills of his grandfather Peter Lomas, his 2 uncles John Creswick Lomas and Peter the younger, and his aunt Elizabeth Lomas. He inherited a share in copyhold and freehold estates in Yorkshire that had been part of his grandmother Mary (Creswick)'s marriage settlement of 1774.

Note:

There is some evidence that William Dearneley's property in Holme Valley was divided between his sons and passed down through the different branches of the family, such that, by 1832, Elias Lomas, descendant of William's son John, owned a property called Edge End in Austonley, whilst John and James Dearnley, descendants of William's son Joseph, owned a property called Callwell in Austonley. Elias Lomas was fourth cousin twice removed to the Dearnley brothers and their respective properties are separated by a few fields.

It seems likely that the Edge End property eventually ended up in the possession of Astley Creswick.
Elias had no children and no siblings and all his Lomas aunts and uncles pre-deceased him. However, he did have cousins, the children of his aunt Mary Lomas 1790 18704 : Phoebe Ann Oliver 1819-1877, Thomas Oliver 1822, and William Creswick Lomas Oliver 1826-1890. Astley Creswick was a first cousin (1 time removed) of Elias, the son of Phoebe Ann Oliver & James George Antrobus Creswick.
