Note:

This family is currently not linked to any D trees.
However, FTDNA test results suggest a common ancestor around 1630 (a 90% Confidence level) with a descendant of Amos Dearnaley
Amos & his family were all based around Mottram-in-Longdendale, Cheshire.

Researchers of this Newton family are consistent with them originating in Lincolnshire (90 miles as the crow flies from the Ds in Derbyshire).
If the DNA result is to be believed (& C.S.I . says it's so !) - then here are a few thoughts:
1. A Dearnaley was the out-of-wedlock father of a Newton
2. Vice-Versa
3. The Newtons were not from Lincolnshire & perhaps an early researcher was drawn there by thoughts of a possible Isaac Newton connection.
4. There is a "William Dearnilee als Newton" which seems to suggest a (so far unresolved) clue. see William Dearnilee als Newton
5. The closest link geographically between the Newtons & the Dearnleys has been found around 1590 with Roger Newton and Rodger Dearnilie

The Newton line is entered here in case the link is found.
It has been copied from an Ancestry "Public" tree and has not yet been verfied.

I would love to hear from any Newton's who might have any alternative theories. - MED

He was called on to conduct some special services in Boston, and while he was so occupied, the captain of the ship, deciding in his own mind that it was wrong for the young minister to leave the country, and that like Jonah, he was the cause of the contrary winds by trying to escape from his duty, sailed away without him.
