Daniel had a rich 'cousin' Richard Croshawe of London (died 1631) - (possibly a cousin of Daniel's mother Mary Stalling).

'At the time of the Civil War there were about one hundred and fifty-five livings in Cambridgeshire, including fourteen in the town of Camridge. Of this number we have direct evidence that from (sic) sixty-eight the clergy were ejected, chiefly for their Royalist opinions....'
'Teversham. - Daniel Darnelly was ejected in 1643 or 1644, and was succeeded by William Sharp, who did not get on well with his parishioners in the matter of tithes. Darnelly caused a good deal of trouble in the parish in The Autumn of 1647.'
